Manchester United's expected move to appoint Ralf Rangnick as their interim manager has been a hot topic in recent days.

It now seems as though the Red Devils are set to recruit Ralf Rangnick on an interim basis, who has made a name for himself coaching in Germany and is currently Lokomotiv Moscow's manager of sports and development.

“I think this guy is coming in, Ralf Rangnick, will make sure United get in the Champions League next season.

Following the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino emerged as the frontrunner for the United job having been linked with the role at Old Trafford on other occasions in the past.

Providing his view on the imminent arrival of the former RB Leipzig manager, Keane argued that opting for an interim coach to temporarily steady the ship is far from being an 'ideal' situation for Liverpool's rivals.

United then hope to have a permanent boss in place at the end of the current campaign, with Rangnick expected to remain at the club in a consultancy role for two years.

Meanwhile former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher, like Jurgen Klopp, is of the view that United are likely to reap the rewards of Rangnick's experience.
