Jamie Carragher grew up a boyhood Everton fan who dreamed of one day making his mark at their stadium.

While there has been plenty of water under the bridge since then for the Liverpool legend Carragher can be proud that he has now at least fulfilled his childhood wish, as the Sky Sports pundit is now part of the foundations at Everton's brand new state-of-the-art home at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

The Toffees have only been in their new ground a matter of weeks, but Carragher's face is already immortalized on its perimeter as part of a huge mosaic of personalised bricks sold to die-hard Everton fans.

Sharing an image on his X account, Carragher wrote: "On The Overlap Gary Neville got me a personalized brick and sent in a photo for the mosaic at Everton’s new ground as a joke for a Christmas present.

"The club obviously said NO.

But we’ve now got confirmation I’ve made the mosaic, abseiling from the roof of Anfield!"

While some Everton fans were disgruntled at seeing an Anfield hero adorned on the walls of their new stadium, others were quick to remind Carragher of his lifelong allegiance.

"We don’t forget true fans," one wrote, while another said: "Once a blue, he is still a blue."

Carragher this week learned he has won the 2025 One Club Award from Athletic Bilbao, awarded to a player who has represented the same club his entire career.

The 2005 Champions League winner told Sky Sports: "People talk about medals and trophies, but one of my biggest achievements is playing for a club of the stature of Liverpool for my whole career.

"That is something I am proud of and to be recognised in this way by another club is special.

"The longer you are inside a club, the more you are aware of that one-club-man status

Carragher is not the only boyhood Everton fan who enjoyed tremendous success at Liverpool

Robbie Fowler, Michael Owen and Steve McManaman were all Toffees supporters in their youth, while Steven Gerrard was once pictured in an Everton kit in the club's trophy room as a youngster.

But Carragher added: "I would not say I am universally loved by every Liverpool supporter just because I stayed here for the whole of my career
