Jamie Carragher says Mohamed Salah has ‘gone off the boil’ and has raised major doubts over his Liverpool future.

Salah was unable to help the Reds claw back a two-goal deficit during Wednesday’s Merseyside derby defeat at Everton - their first at Goodison Park since 2010.

Salah has so often proved to be Liverpool's saviour but the Egyptian has failed to score in his last three league games.

Liverpool have lost two of those fixtures, having missed a hatful of gilt-edged chances against both Crystal Palace and the Toffees.

Salah was subject of an offer from Saudi Arabia last summer and, despite Liverpool holding onto their talisman, Jurgen Klopp’s impending exit could also see the Egyptian star seek pastures new.

Anfield legend Carragher insists questions will be asked over Salah’s future at the club with just 14 months remaining on his existing contract, and with Saudi links persisting.

But the pundit also pointed to a lack of clinical finishing among Liverpool’s front three, with Darwin Nunez coming in for criticism after another wasteful performance against Everton.

“Mo Salah is Liverpool’s goalscorer and he’s gone off the boil,” Carragher told Sky Sports after the 2-0 defeat at Goodison.

“I think that’s shone a light on the others a little bit more.

“What we’ve seen here in terms of [Luis] Diaz, [Dawin] Nunez and Salah, we’d class that at Liverpool’s front three, but the others [Diaz and Nunez] aren’t as cynical as what we’ve seen before.

"I think there’s a real discussion with the new manager about what the future holds for Mo Salah at Liverpool.

“It's probably the first time we’ve asked that question because he’s only got a year to go on his deal.”

Carragher voiced particular concern over the goalscoring form of £85million striker Nunez.

The Uruguayan moved to Anfield in 2022 but has failed to replicate the prolific scoring rate seen during his time at previous club Benfica.

With 11 Premier League to his name this season and just nine last term, Carragher admits he has concerns over whether Nunez can be trusted to deliver for the Reds in high-stakes matches.

“I think I’m at the stage now with Nunez where I don't think there’s a question to ask,” he added.

“I think after two years at the club and with Liverpool going for the title, you need your big man to score away at Old Trafford, away at Goodison.

“There’s no time to waste, this is not September, October.
