Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has given the ultimate compliment to Champions League winner PSG, who knocked Liverpool out of the competition earlier this year en route to beating Inter Milan in the final.

With PSG racing into a 3-0 lead against Real Madrid in the semi-finals of the Club World Cup, Carragher was left hugely impressed by Luis Enrique's side.

Since losing the likes of Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe, PSG has moved onto another level as a team, with Dembele emerging as the leading contender to win the Ballon d'Or and exceptional stars like Joao Neves and Vitinha excelling in midfield.

In the Champions League last-16, PSG hammered Liverpool at the Parc des Princes, somehow losing 1-0 after a stunning performance from Alisson Becker and a breakaway goal from Harvey Elliott.

"It was the best game of football I was ever involved in," Slot told reporters after being knocked out of Europe by PSG.

"I don't have the history that Liverpool has as a manager but it was two teams at an incredible level.
