Jamie Carragher has revealed he would love Liverpool to sign Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams.
The ex-Liverpool man has been making plenty of headlines in the Basque city this week after traveling to Bilbao to be honored with a rare one-club trophy award to recognize his services to the Reds.
Carragher was named Bilbao’s 2025 One Club Man and received a personalized trophy on behalf of the side.
The former defender, who made 737 appearances during his distinguished career for Liverpool, was also presented with a Bilbao shirt and took to the pitch before the club’s La Liga game against Girona on Tuesday.

Asked during a ceremony in Bilbao if he would be interested in signing any of the club’s players for Liverpool, Carragher replied: “Yes, I would take the one everyone wants to take.

Instead, he signed a 10-year contract to remain at the Basque side.
As for Carragher, he spoke about his immense pride at representing his local club, a trait at the cornerstone of Bilbao’s identity.
