Steven Gerrard insists he's shrugging off any speculation about Alfredo Morelos - because he's so used to it.

The Rangers striker is wanted by Ligue 1 side Lille, with reports in France stating that he's already provisionally agreed on a contract.

The Dogues are understood to be ready to offer around £17million for El Bufalo, with West Brom also interested.

But speaking to former Liverpool team-mate Jamie Carragher on Sky Sports, the Rangers boss insists that kind of speculation won't affect him or his team.

Gerrard said: "Look, at the moment we haven't received a bid that meets a valuation for any of our players.

"It's something I've got used to, we've had noise around Morelos since the first day I walked in.

"He's a fantastic player, he's scored 77 goals in 137 games. You know and I know you get noise around those type of players but it'll certainly be one where myself and the coaching staff and the board sit down.

"If the numbers meet what they're happy with, then we make the decision from there.

"But what's for sure is we don't want to lose any of our top players, and he's certainly a top player.

"But if it does happen it will be for a big number for sure."

Gerrard also confirmed he's looking to add to his squad whether or not his star striker departs.

He confirmed: "There are just a few areas we're looking to strenghten.

"I'm quite open in terms of that. We're close on a couple of things, obviously I can't name any names.

"I've made it quite clear we're looking for options in the attacking areas, and also looking for something in the engine room right now.

"That's all I can say on it right now and we're close on a couple of things.

"But until we can get them finalised and over the line I don't want to count my chickens."
