Jamie Carragher has offered his perspective on the disagreement between Mohamed Salah and Jurgen Klopp during Liverpool’s draw with West Ham.
The Reds’ 2-2 draw with the Hammers at the London Stadium saw them lose further ground in the Premier League title race.
Liverpool now find themselves level on points with Manchester City, who have two games in hand, and one point behind leaders Arsenal, who have a game in hand.
Klopp made the decision not to start Salah in the game in East London, instead opting for a front three of Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo, and Harvey Elliott.
Salah was introduced to the game in the 79th minute, with the score tied at 2-2.
As Salah was preparing to come on, Klopp appeared to give him one final instruction, prompting a reaction from the Liverpool forward.
Salah seemed visibly frustrated, with fellow substitutes Darwin Nunez and Joe Gomez stepping in to diffuse the situation.
Jamie Carragher has shared his thoughts on the heated exchange between Klopp and Salah.
“MO Salah & Jurgen Klopp are both @LFC legends,” he posted on X.
“We don’t need to take sides.
Salah is frustrated & angry with Jurgen that he’s not playing & at that moment didn’t want to fully embrace the boss, Jurgen understandably took exception.
“They’ve been a massive help to each other in all that’s been achieved at the club!”
