Liverpool’s future appears to be in very safe hands.
The Reds are still yet to win a game by a convincing margin, but fans will not mind too much as they made it seven wins from seven after victory over Southampton.
Arne Slot made 11 changes from the one that beat Everton at the weekend, with this being the chance for bit-part players and youngsters to throw their hats into the ring.
Some had a rather quiet night all in all, but others impressed massively and showed why they should be given more opportunities as the season progresses.
One of these stars left not only the fans impressed but Jamie Redknapp too, with the former Liverpool captain believing he has everything he needs to go right to the top.

Slot handed out a couple of official debuts during Liverpool’s game against Southampton, with one of these being for 18-year-old Giovanni Leoni.
The Italian came with a very strong reputation in the Serie A, but has had to be patient for his chance in a Liverpool shirt, but when he came, he took it.
The defender looked composed on the ball and did not look out of place, with Redknapp believing that he has all the tools to become one of the best.

“I think Leoni is going to be a really good player.
It was the first time I have seen him live and he’s got so much composure, he’s six foot four, he’s got everything,” he said on Sky Sports.
“He’s got that calmness about him, wants to defend, comfortable on the ball, he is certainly going to be one for the future.

“Virgil is now what, 33, 34?
He’s still playing at a very high level, but Leoni is certainly one they will be looking forward to in a few years.”
Leoni is very much seen as the heir to Virgil van Dijk’s throne, and he has certainly not let the club captain down after an excellent debut.
Despite his excellent debut, it was, unfortunately, cut short due to injury, with the Italian needing to be stretchered off.
The extent of the injury is now known and it is as bad as it possibly could have been, with the 18-year-old tearing his ACL.
This means he will be out for several months and could even miss the entire season, making this the worst possible start to life in England for the young man.
At this point in time, all everyone can do is rally around Leoni and give him the support he needs, because if he comes back firing, then like Redknapp says, he can go right to the very top.
