Former Liverpool midfielder, Jamie Redknapp, is a big fan of Dean Huijsen

Arne Slot may be partying in Spain and his players letting their hair down in Dubai.

But you can bet behind the scenes at new Premier League champions Liverpool plans are being putting into place to make their squad even stronger for next season.

The Reds may have romped to their record-equalling 20th top-flight title but there is an acceptance that after just one permanent signing in his debut season in charge, Slot will be given support in the transfer market this summer.

And two players on Liverpool's radar are Jeremie Frimpong and Dean Huijsen.

Frimpong can be prised away from Bayer Leverkusen should the Reds choose to pursue a new right-back following the imminent departure of Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Frimpong, 24, is understood be receptive over a move to Anfield and the Netherlands international team-mate of Virgil van Dijk, Ryan Gravenberch and Cody Gakpo is available for around £30m.

Another player who has a release clause in his contract is Bournemouth and Spain centre-back Huijsen.

Along with Arsenal, Chelsea and Real Madrid, Liverpool are considering a move for the 20-year-old, who is understood to have a release clause of £50m.

And should the Reds land Huijsen, one of their former captains would be delighted.

In fact, Jamie Redknapp believes the youngster, who was born in the Netherlands but represents Spain, and who has made a massive impression since joining Bournemouth last summer from Juventus, is already the 'complete player'.

Speaking recently on Sky Sports, the pundit, who made 308 appearances for Liverpool during his playing career, said: "He's so cool, so composed, he makes the game look so easy and so effortless.

"For a 20-year-old, to be doing what he's doing, that's why he's coveted pretty much by everyone in Europe.

"If you're creating a footballer, a modern-day centre-back, you've got the influence of the Netherlands, got a little bit of influence of Spain, where their defenders bring the ball out, and then you've got that Italian mark on it as well.

That journey he's had, and the mixture he's got, is pretty much perfect.

"The elements are good, he's got all the ingredients to be a top player.

"He's a great threat from set-pieces, he cruises into midfield with the ball, but he also defends well.

He's a complete player this young man.

He's going to get a lot of offers.
