Jamie Redknapp showered Mason Mount with praise after his 'fabulous finish' to put Chelsea in front against Liverpool but felt Trent Alexander-Arnold could have done better by getting tighter on his England team-mate.

In the Sky Sports studio at half-time, ex-Liverpool star Redknapp focussed on Alexander-Arnold's defending in the build-up to the strike and felt the full-back could have 'moved his feet quicker' to get closer to the ball.

'Even if he comes back inside, Trent Alexander-Arnold has got to get there quicker! He's got to move his feet quicker, he's got to block the ball.

'At first I'm thinking show him down the line on his left but once he comes inside, you've got to block it.

More: UK Former Chelsea left-back Ashley Cole felt Alexander-Arnold didn't help himself in the build-up by gambling on Mount going down the line.

'I think the problem with Trent there is that he overcompensated, thinking Trent was going to go down the line,' he said.

'And then obviously he hasn't moved his feet quick enough to get out and block it.
