Jarell Quansah departed Liverpool this summer on a permanent transfer that saw him sign for Bayer Leverkusen in a deal worth up to £35m.

The English centre-back was at Liverpool for 17 years before seeking a new adventure, after successfully rising up though the academy and into the first team.

He first broke into the team under Jurgen Klopp and played a prominent role during the German’s last season in charge of the Reds.

Under Arne Slot his game-time became less and less, and it was mutually agreed that it was best for him to move on so that his lack of minutes on the pitch did not hamper his development.

Liverpool inserted a buy-back clause into the deal that saw Quansah depart for Germany, and they will be eager to trigger that clause if Quansah continues to build on the potential that was so clear to see during his time at Anfield.

The young Englishman has had a promising start to life with Bayer Leverkusen, putting in regularly strong performances throughout pre-season and he has now had the dream start to life in the Bundesliga as well.
