Sky Germany has provided fresh updates on Liverpool’s interest in Dean Huijsen and how it affects Jarell Quansah.

The Reds are in the market for a defender this summer, and Huijsen features heavily in their plans.

Arne Slot’s side are said to have already met the player’s representative ahead of a potential summer move.

The 19-year-old has established himself as one of the most sought-after young defenders in Europe this season.

Real Madrid were one of the clubs said to be leading the race for his signature.

Recently, Chelsea were said to be ahead in the race, given Los Blancos’ reluctance to sign a central defender this summer.

On Wednesday, it was also reported that Newcastle United had made Huijsen one of their primary defensive targets this summer.

The outlet also revealed that the futures of Ibrahima Konate, Jarell Quansah and Joe Gomez could impact Liverpool’s plan for Huijsen.

And now Sky Germany has corroborated the BBC’s earlier position, revealing that Liverpool plan to loan out Quansah should they succeed in signing Huijsen.

“Liverpool have once again made a strong push for Dean #Huijsen in recent days!” the journalist wrote on X.

“Projects and figures have all been presented.

At Liverpool, there are plans to either loan or sell Jarell Quansah, with Huijsen potentially taking over that squad role.

Qunsah has struggled to hold down a place in the first XI this season, starting just eleven games in all competitions this season.

Although Slot is reportedly a fan of the 21-year-old and refused to sanction a deal for his exit last summer, it appears the Englishman does not have the manager’s full trust, as Slot has elected to play Curtis Jones in an unorthodox full-back role ahead of Quansah lately.

Inter Milan have been named as potential suitors for Quansah this summer.
