Graham Potter alleviated the pressure on himself by guiding West Ham United to a 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

Substitutes Crysencio Summerville and Callum Wilson both made goal contributions as West Ham beat Forest to earn their first win of the season on 31 August.

The East London club had previously endured heavy defeats to Sunderland and Chelsea in the Premier League, but they have now headed into the international break with momentum behind them.

Meanwhile, Football Insider have exclusively revealed that West Ham will let Lucas Paqueta leave after he scored a penalty against Nottingham Forest.

Jarrod Bowen has been a talisman for West Ham ever since joining the London Stadium outfit from Hull City in 2020.

The winger showed all of his attacking prowess to score the first of the Irons’ three goals in the 84th minute.

Potter will need Bowen – West Ham’s talisman – to remain in such good form if West Ham can steer themselves clear of trouble this term.

Crysencio Summerville’s first Premier League season with Potter’s men last campaign was a disappointing one, largely thanks to injury struggles.

However, his performance off the bench against Nuno Espirito Santo’s side shows that he has a lot to offer for the East Londoners.

The former Leeds United winger produced the assist for Bowen’s goal, before winning the penalty that Paqueta scored from.

Like Summerville, Callum Wilson helped West Ham defeat Nottingham Forest by providing a strong impact from the substitutes’ bench.

The man who signed for the Hammers from Newcastle United this summer scored a header in additional time to cap off a strong win for Potter’s men.

The striker was perhaps unlucky to produce a good save from Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Matz Sels before being replaced by Wilson.

However, the former Borussia Dortmund man was outshone by substitute Wilson, who scored his first Hammers goal.

Consequently, the ex-Newcastle man could be preferred to Fullkrug in West Ham’s upcoming Premier League encounter with rivals Tottenham on 13 September.

Potter’s system means that James Ward-Prowse is utilised in a deep-lying midfield role, which doesn’t get the best out of the 30-year-old.

Ward-Prowse was unable to demonstrate his creativity against his former club at the City Ground on 31 August.

Mateus Fernandes showed glimpses of his creativity on his West Ham debut.

Elsewhere, Alphonse Areola has been backed to leave the London Stadium in a West Ham Zone exclusive.
