Daniel Farke faces a nervous wait to see if Jayden Bogle will be fit for Leeds United’s Premier League opener against Everton.
Leeds finalised their pre-season preparations with a 1-1 draw against AC Milan in Dublin on Saturday, as the countdown to their Premier League return continues after two years in the Championship wilderness.
Farke has spent close to £60million on new signings this summer to help raise the level of his squad, but their most recent addition came over two weeks ago in the form of Leeds’ new number one Lucas Perri.
Much of Leeds’ focus in the rest of the window is to strengthen their frontline with a new striker and left winger top of the billing, but their last two friendlies against Villarreal and Milan have highlighted another key deficiency.

Bogle excelled in Leeds’s first pre-season friendly against Man United in Stockholm, but was absent against both Villarreal and Milan with a hip flexor injury that could rule him out of their clash with Everton.
Isaac Schmidt struggled while filling in for Bogle at right-back in both matches, but Leeds’ defensive deficiencies were spared against Milan when new signing Anton Stach struck home their equaliser.
Stach’s curling strike from the edge of the box secured a 1-1 draw for the Peacocks in Dublin, and he posted on Instagram (10 August) to reflect on his pre-season as Leeds’ Premier League return beckons.

In a Beatles-inspired post featuring Stach walking alongside three of the ‘Fab Four’, the Germany midfielder said: “Pre-season crossed – Next stop: Premier League”.
Bogle was one of several Leeds players to respond to Stach’s post, and left the one-word verdict of “Player” in the comments.

Football Insider Verdict
Everton travel to Elland Road in a week’s time ready to give Leeds a stern welcome back to the Premier League, and that readiness has been boosted by Jack Grealish’s imminent arrival on a season-long loan.
Grealish has the potential to have a field day off the left flank against the exit-linked Schmidt, and Farke will have his fingers crossed that Leeds’ standout right-back is fit and available to face the Toffees.
Leeds remain in the hunt for attacking reinforcements this summer and could even take a punt on a deal for Aleksandar Mitrovic from Al-Hilal, but the right-hand side of their defence is the position which will be under most scrutiny next Monday.
