Jeremie Frimpong is set to sign a five-year deal with Liverpool after the full back jetted in on Sunday ahead of a medical.
The Netherlands international will become the Premier League champions’ first summer signing after they agreed a £30m deal with Bayer Leverkusen.
Frimpong, 24, was identified as the club’s top target once they learnt that Trent Alexander-Arnold would depart at the end of his contract in June.
And Frimpong will undergo his medical on Monday having already agreed personal terms.
Bundesliga side Leverkusen signed Frimpong from Celtic in a deal worth up to £11.5m in January 2021 and the Scottish champions have a sell-on clause that could pocket them another estimated £5m.

The German club are searching for a successor to replace head coach Xabi Alonso, who is set to join Real Madrid in time for next month’s Club World Cup.
And after Frimpong informed the club hierarchy of his desire to make a move to the Premier League they have decided to get the move out of the way.

Liverpool only signed Federico Chiesa last summer before winning the title at a canter.
Darwin Nunez, whose admirers include Atletico Madrid, is expected to depart.
Slow, however, has made it clear that he is more than happy with his current squad - with Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah already agreeing to contract extensions.
"I've said many times already that we, as a club, are very happy with the players we've got," he said before Monday night’s game against Brighton.

"Part of it is our decision but in some situations players that haven't played a lot are not looking forward to another season not playing a lot.
"So, there's always an ongoing process and we have to make sure that we are prepared if we can strengthen the squad.
I think this club has shown so many times in the past that they will make the right decisions.
"And we made the right decision this season as well not to bring in a player at all - except for Federico Chiesa - and that worked out quite well.”
