Everyone agrees that it’s time for Liverpool to flash the cash, but what could that look like?
Arne Slot is set to be backed in the transfer market after winning the Premier League in his debut season, and supporters are fixated over what that will look like.

Last summer the Dutchman was given just Federico Chiesa, but talkSPORT host and Reds fan Ade Oladipo is expecting much more this time around.
As such, he was asked to name his ideal line-up for their title defence, but it’s one that has to be realistic.
Starting from the back outwards, Oladipo said: “Best goalkeeper in the world, Alisson [Becker], centre back partnership of [Ibrahima] Konate and [Virgil] van Dijk - solid.
“[Jeremie] Frimpong coming in, it could be Frimpong or Conor Bradley.
[Milos] Kerkez looks like he’s on his way in, that’s pretty much done.
“Midfield three is interesting.
Obviously I want [Alexander] Isak, everyone does, but it’s not going to happen.
“That’s Liverpool making four new signings with about 20 leaving the club, Slot should be given that money.”

Oladipo could well end up having his wishes granted when it comes to three of those four players.
talkSPORT understands that Liverpool are ready to sign Bayer Leverkusen’s Frimpong and have informed the Bundesliga side that they’ll trigger the flying fullback’s bargain £29.5million release clause.

Bournemouth's Kerkez remains a top target to replace the struggling Andy Robertson, while we also understand that the Merseyside club have held talks with Wirtz.
Yet the striker position is certainly the most interesting, with Liverpool looking for a new man up top as they attempt to offload Darwin Nunez.
Viktor Gyokeres, Benjamin Sesko and Victor Osimhen are all options, but Alvarez could certainly slot right in given his impressive Premier League experience.
A two-time winner with Manchester City, it was clear he had to make a career decision as his spot upfront was blocked by the unstoppable Erling Haaland.
Alvarez played an integral part in Argentina winning the 2022 World Cup and then in the summer of 2024 completed a £71million move to Atletico Madrid, the biggest deal of that window.
This season for Atleti he has 27 in 52, and has arguably been their best player during another season where Diego Simeone’s men have threatened to impress but ultimately failed.

Such disappointment could well leave the 25-year-old re-thinking his decision, and should that be the case, Liverpool would do well to take a look at the situation.
