Hugo Ekitike was once again the star of the show for Liverpool but was sent off for a second yellow for removing his shirt after scoring the winner against Southampton.
Jeremie Frimpong was slammed by Tim Sherwood for having what he described as “the worst game you can ever imagine.“
Teenage Liverpool debutant Giovanni Leoni had a brilliant game, which was cruelly brought to an end with a nasty-looking injury in the 80th minute.

Federico Chiesa received a wonderful pass from Andy Robertson before taking an even more delicate touch to kill the ball.
The Italian then sealed his second assist of the night with a selfless pass to Hugo Ekitike.
The Frenchman made no mistake as he tapped home his fifth goal of the season and the winner on the night.
Ekitike then wheeled away in celebration, pulling off his shirt to show the jubilant Liverpool fans his name and number.
On another night, it would have been a lovely goal with a great celebration, but the former Eintracht Frankfurt striker failed to remember he had already been booked.
Jeremie Frimpong ran over to him and was visibly confused at Ekitike’s decision to strip his shirt.
The referee had no problem reminding him with a second yellow.

Not only did Ekitike get sent off, but he will also miss Liverpool’s next game.
Due to recent rule changes in English football, the suspension will apply to the next domestic game.
This means that Ekitike will miss Liverpool’s Premier League meeting with Crystal Palace this weekend, which is even more of a blow given his gorgeous debut goal against the Eagles in the Community Shield in early August.
The only good news is that, as it was a sending off for two yellows, Ekitike will only miss one game but the reaction from Arne Slot suggests the forward is in for a talking to from the manager.
