The right-back position has been a key area for Liverpool in recent times and Jeremie Frimpong is the player tasked with proving his worth to the Anfield faithful.
Jeremie Frimpong is a prime example of how the role has evolved as he has played as more of a winger at points, although he is still astute at the back.
At just 24, he has plenty of time to assert himself as one of the world’s best and hopefully Liverpool’s greatest ever right-backs, with Trent Alexander-Arnold a player that fans will hope he is better than.
However, the Dutchman has already delivered an early verdict on the scouser and taken a slight swipe at him, something that is sure to win over Liverpool fans.

Frimpong is certainly among the top right-backs in the world but there are a plethora of highly-talented ones too from all over the world.
They may all bring different characteristics, but they can all be put in the same bracket and judged similarly, with Liverpool’s new signing clearly not holding ‘Trent’ in very high regard.

When asked who he thinks the best right-backs are for a TikTok video, his first option was between Alexander-Arnold and Denzel Dumfries, with Frimpong picking his fellow Dutchman without hesitation.

He then carried on until he picked the best right-back of all time, with Frimpong settling on Brazil legend Cafu.
The other player that he picked and suggested he believes is better than Alexander-Arnold was Achraf Hakimi, although his hesitation on Maicon, Javier Zanetti and Philipp Lahm suggest he also thinks they are better.
As well as taking a slight dig at the former Liverpool man, he also didn’t pick Neville and skipped over him very quickly, another sign that will make him popular at Anfield.
Whether Liverpool fans want to admit it or not, Alexander-Arnold established himself as one of the best full-backs in the world during his time at the club and was vital in their success.
Now, Frimpong – as well as Conor Bradley – has been tasked with carrying on the baton, although during an interview with Sky Sports, the Dutchman seemed confident that he will be able to do it.
“It’s big shoes but it’s Liverpool, it’s a big team who win trophies for a reason.
If you play for Liverpool you have to fill in the shoes and perform.
That’s what I’ll bring.”
He certainly comes across as a very likeable individual and if he picks up at Liverpool where he left off at Bayer Leverkusen, then he could be a real star in the coming years.
