Dutch right-back Jeremie Frimpong has landed in England on a private jet to sign his contract with Liverpool, as per reports from Sky Sports.

The deal between Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen was completed earlier, and the Dutchman also finished his medical last weekend.

Frimpong has arrived at Anfield to fill the shoes of Trent Alexander-Arnold, who is set to leave the club after 20 years to join Spanish giants Real Madrid before the Club World Cup.

The 24-year-old right-back looks like a perfect replacement for Trent, as his contribution on the right flank is quite similar to Liverpool’s No.

Frimpong was a key player for Bayer Leverkusen under manager Xabi Alonso, and his role in winning the Bundesliga title in 2023/24 was crucial for the German side.

The Dutchman was a top target for the Reds, and Arne Slot always wanted him as the ideal replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The Merseyside club are also set to bring Frimpong’s Bayer Leverkusen teammate Florian Wirtz, as reported by Fabrizio Romano.

Jeremie Frimpong is going to be Liverpool’s first signing of the summer.

The right-back is the latest Dutch international to join the club, following Virgil van Dijk, Cody Gakpo, and Ryan Gravenberch — along with manager Arne Slot, who joined the club last year after the departure of Jurgen Klopp.

The Premier League champions have triggered the €35 million release clause to sign the right-back from Bayer Leverkusen, according to reports (via Fabrizio Romano).

The Dutch right-back had already agreed personal terms with Liverpool earlier.

As per the reports by Express, Frimpong is expected to sign a five-year contract with the Reds.

Further details of his contract are expected to be announced soon, as the transfer will be made official shortly.
