Jeremie Frimpong is set to leave Bayer Leverkusen this summer
Liverpool have held 'advanced talks' with Bayer Leverkusen full-back Jeremie Frimpong as they seek to replace the outgoing Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Frimpong has seen his stock rise in Germany and the Reds are considering him as a summer signing.
Those at Anfield are having to fill the huge void left by Alexander-Arnold, who has allowed his contract to wind down ahead of an imminent move to Real Madrid.
Sky Germany reports that Liverpool could land him for just under £30million.
There had been talk of Conor Bradley coming in to replace Alexander-Arnold as Liverpool's first choice right-back, but it appears they may be looking to add more quality to provide competition for the academy star.
Liverpool, having been crowned champions in Arne Slot's debut year, are expected to be active in the transfer market after making no major signings 12 months ago.
The Reds need to add more depth with their Dutch coach working with a very small pool of players this term.

Frimpong previously said that "Liverpool is a great club with history." His productivity in Germany has been clear to see and during his 189 appearances he's come up with 29 goals and 44 assists.
That prompted Leverkusen to sign him in January 2021.

The German club are set for a summer of change as they become victims of their own success.
Bayern Munich and Manchester United are both linked with the defender, who may favour a move to the Premier League.
