Jeremie Frimpong left Ibrahima Konate baffled with his recent comment(Image: YouTube/Liverpool FC)
Jeremie Frimpong left Ibrahima Konate baffled by reminding him that he scored against the Frenchman, even though Liverpool beat Bayer Leverkusen 4-0 last season.
Frimpong, 24, was the Reds' first summer signing when he arrived from the Bundesliga side for £29.5million.
He has since been joined by ex-Leverkusen team-mate Florian Wirtz, who arrived for a Premier League record £116m, while the likes of Milos Kerkez and Hugo Ekitike have also joined the club.
Wirtz and Frimpong recently had a fun exchange in footage that was shared on the club's social media channels.
During their conversation, Konate walked in to give the pair of them a bottle of water each.
However, he also left a passing shot of his own, just as he was walking out of the door.
Speaking on Liverpool’s official YouTube channel, Konate asked the defender: “Did they ask you, ‘How was the 4-0 at Anfield?'”
A rather smug sounding Frimpong then instantly replied: “My friend.
I scored eh?”
Confused, Konate replied: "You what?” When Frimpong repeated what he said before, the central defender reminded him of the score, forgetting that the Dutchman did find the back of the net – but he was deemed to have been in an offside position.

While it did not count, it was evidently enough to have vindicated Frimpong in the Dutchman's mind.
In their meeting at Anfield last season, a ruthless second half from Arne Slot's team saw them sweep the then German champions aside.

Luis Diaz scored an impeccable hat-trick in the second half, while Cody Gakpo also found the back of the net, as Liverpool quickly ripped the contest away from then-manager Xabi Alonso – who has since taken over at Real Madrid – on his return to Anfield.
Of course, their exchange was only playful banter, and it's more than likely that they are already good pals.
Wirtz, Konate and Frimpong were all involved in Liverpool's recent pre-season loss to AC Milan.
