New Liverpool signing Jeremie Frimpong voiced his feelings on replacing outgoing Trent Alexander-Arnold, saying it is a big role which he is willing to cover.
The 24-year-old has arrived from Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen, alongside attacking midfielder Florian Wirtz.

He said: "It's big shoes but it's Liverpool, it's a big team who win trophies for a reason.
If you play for Liverpool, you have to fill in the shoes and perform.
That's what I'll bring.
"I know what being a champion is like at Bayer Leverkusen so joining a champion team is a privilege, especially for Liverpool.
To go from watching them to playing for them is crazy.”
During the 2024/25 season, Frimpong played in 33 of the 34 Bundesliga games for Bayer Leverkusen, scoring in five and assisting in six.

Frimpong was a part of the Manchester City academy between 2010 and 2019, then moved to Celtic, before joining Leverkusen in 2021.
The defender wanted to surprise his Liverpool-supporting dad with the transfer, downplaying any rumours which arisen while he was still playing for the German side until the last moment.
Speaking to the Kop TV, he said: "Do you know, we actually surprised him.
So then obviously I was like ‘dad I’m going to Liverpool to do my medical.’ And he was like ‘no, really?!’ and I was like ‘yeah I’m going to go and play for your team’ and he was like ‘no way!’ But it was a great reaction.”
Frimpong is expected to play his first game for the Reds in the pre-season friendly against Preston North End on July 13 at Deepdale, with kick-off at 3pm.
