Jeremie Frimpong can’t wait to play under Arne Slot at Liverpool after describing his move to Anfield as a ‘no-brainer’.
The Reds completed the signing of the Netherlands international after activating the £29.5m release clause in his Bayer Leverkusen contract.
Liverpool moved for the 24-year-old after it became clear that Trent Alexander-Arnold would not be signing a new contract with his boyhood club, with the England international going on to sign for Real Madrid in a deal worth up to £10m for the Reds.
Frimpong became Liverpool’s first signing since Slot’s side won the Premier League, while the Reds are also looking to finalise moves for Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez.

The full-back is currently away on international duty with the Netherlands, and has linked up with new Liverpool team-mates Virgil van Dijk, Cody Gakpo and Ryan Gravenberch as a result.
And speaking while away with the Dutch camp, he opened up on the strong first impression Slot made on him prior to his move to Anfield.
“He (Slot) has given me good energy and positive vibes,” he told SBS, as quoted by Soccer News.
“I also know he is a good manager, so I can’t wait to play under him.

“I knew he had won the Eredivisie with Feyenoord.
They have told me good things about him.
"They told me that he is a very caring manager, he encourages you and is close to the players.
The latter is very good for a player, I had that same bond with Xabi Alonso."

Meanwhile, Frimpong is also looking forward to playing with his compatriots at Liverpool as he admitted it was an easy decision to join the Reds.
"It was a no-brainer: Liverpool is one of the five best teams in the world and plays for the Champions League,” he said.
