Whether Liverpool and Arne Slot decide to promote Conor Bradley to first-choice right-back or not, it’s clear that Liverpool need to bolster the position with Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong cited as an option for the Anfield club.

The worst-kept secret in football was finally confirmed on Monday when Trent Alexander-Arnold announced his 20-year association with Liverpool would end this summer.

The Dutch international’s profile and ambitions suggest he would seek a starring role rather than a backup position at Anfield.

And according to David Ornstein, the defender signed a new contract in 2023 that includes a £30 million (€35m) release clause.

For a club like Liverpool, this would not be an issue, meaning that a potential transfer hinges on whether Arne Slot actually wants the profile of Frimpong at right-back.

Meanwhile, Sky Germany previously claimed that although Frimpong’s development has been appreciated by those at Anfield, there is reservations over whether his playing style would be a match at Anfield.
