New Liverpool signing Jeremie Frimpong has sent a fresh message to supporters after Florian Wirtz’s move to Anfield was also confirmed on Friday evening.

The Reds have been extremely active in the transfer market so far, having triggered Frimpong’s release clause to sign him from Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen last month.

This week, they finalised a club-record move for his teammate Wirtz, while they also appear to be closing in on Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez.

It is arguably the arrival of Wirtz, though, that could prove the most impactful this summer.

That sentiment is shared by Frimpong, who is thrilled at the prospect of lining up alongside his close friend in a Liverpool shirt next season, with the pair having holidayed together only last week.

"Playing again with Flo [Wirtz] is going to be amazing," Frimpong said in an interview with TikToker Meyadre.

"Especially going to Liverpool together.

"I know what Flo can do for Liverpool.

I know what I can bring as well, so it's going to be exciting."

When asked what convinced him to move to Liverpool, the Dutchman added: "It's Liverpool, you know.

I can't wait to win matches and see the atmosphere."

Frimpong and Wirtz will join up with their new teammates next month when the squad reconvenes for pre-season training on July 8.
