Alejandro Garnacho has faced plenty of criticism in recent days after he shared a picture online of himself wearing an Aston Villa jersey with Marcus Rashford's name on the back.
The Argentina star has been put up for sale by Manchester United this summer, as new Red Devils boss Ruben Amorim looks to rebuild his squad after the club's worst league season since it was relegated from the old First Division in 1974.
United finished 15th and was beaten in the Europa League final, which at the time was viewed as a game which could have saved the club's season, as it would have given it a route into next season's Champions League via the back door.

Garnacho started that final on the bench, and after the game he accepted that his future might lie away from Old Trafford
He said: "I played every round to help the team reach the final, and today I only got 20 minutes
I will try to enjoy the summer and then see what happens."
United tallied just 44 league goals in 2024-25 — the club's lowest amount since the 1973-74 relegation season — and the club has reacted by securing the services of Matheus Cunha and pursuing Bryan Mbeumo
Cunha was the eighth top scorer in the league with 15 goals for Wolves, while Mbeumo was the fifth top scorer with 20 goals for Brentford.
Garnacho's decision to don a Rashford jersey is being viewed by many United supporters as a sign of disrespect towards Amorim, with the Argentine publicly showing support for a player who the Portuguese head coach ostracized soon after arriving at Old Trafford last year.
Rashford scored within the first few minutes of Amorim's first game in charge, away to Ipswich last November, but Amorim quickly made his mind up that he did not want the England forward in his squad, and he joined Aston Villa on loan in January.
Garnacho isn't the only soccer player to have donned a Villa shirt without playing for them — Jeremie Frimpong did so too, although in a far less controversial way.
In April 2024, Frimpong donned a Villa top in a video shared on social media, but that was solely because former Bayer Leverkusen teammate Moussa Diaby was playing for Villa, and Frimpong wanted to show his friend some support.
Frimpong also donned an Arsenal jersey last season — which Gunners fans will no doubt dig up for one reason or another at some point during the upcoming campaign.
Frimpong's wearing of the Villa and Arsenal jerseys were totally innocent, but it's difficult to say whether that is also the case with Garnacho.
