Jeremie Frimpong once voiced everything he wanted to achieve in his career as a teenager, showing exactly why he joined Liverpool and how he has become a top player in recent years.

He went on to sign for Celtic in September 2019, enjoying an 18-month stint before a move to Leverkusen in January 2021.

And it was during his time in Scotland that Frimpong showcased his ambitious mindset which has got him to this point.



Aged 19, he announced to the world that he wanted to win football's biggest individual and team accolades, demonstrating exactly the kind of player Liverpool now have in their ranks.

Frimpong told the Mail in 2019: “I want to be the best player there is.

Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com for the first time as a Red, Frimpong said: “It (the transfer) went quite easy.

Liverpool came and said they had interest, and obviously for me it was a no-brainer.

“For me, it was like, ‘Whatever you guys do, just get this done.' [Speaking to] my agents, ‘Just get this done.’

“Liverpool fans, I’m going to give my all, my energy, my work-rate, and hopefully we can win together, we celebrate together, get everything together.

“I’m just excited to be here.
