Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong has emerged as a player Liverpool are very interested in signing.
The Reds are in advanced talks with Frimpong over a transfer, as they look to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold who’s leaving for Real Madrid.
While signing Frimpong isn’t Liverpool’s number one transfer priority, he’s still viewed as a good option by the club.
Factors in his favour for the transfer are his homegrown status, versatility in being able to play right-back and on the right wing, and his positive personality.

Liverpool are set to have a busy summer with multiple positions being targeted for transfers, including centre-back.
The Reds have been in the race for Dean Huijsen, but that’s looking less likely to happen now thanks to Xabi Alonso and Real Madrid.
Luckily, there’s not looking to be as much competition for Frimpong’s signature, which is just as well with fans already taking to the player.
Jeremie Frimpong has already started endearing himself to the Liverpool fanbase after a video emerged of the Dutch fullback talking about Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Frimpong was playing a game of “start, bench, sell” in an interview with GOAL.
The 24-year-old had to choose between Dani Carvajal, Achraf Hakimi and Trent Alexander-Arnold for the three options.
He chose to start Carvajal, explaining: “He’s a champion, won the Euros and plays for Madrid.”
Frimpong then said he’d bench Hakimi, saying: “I play like him a little bit when we attack, so I see a little bit of myself when I watch him.”
Finally, the right-back declared he’d sell Trent: “Obviously I would sell Trent.
It’s the game you know.”
He did add he still thought Trent was a top player, but his ranking of the soon-to-be Real Madrid full-back has gone down well with Liverpool fans upset at their number 66 leaving.
Liverpool fans have been quick to react to Frimpong’s comments as the video went viral following the recent transfer links.
One Red was taken aback a bit by the video: “Okay he didn’t have to say obviously.
That was an absolute violation.”
Another supporter reckons Frimpong could have another role at the club: “Right-back during the day, Richard Hughes’s protégé/intern by night.
What a signing.”

Plus he’s obviously a load of fun to watch cos of his playing style.”
Another supporter was impressed with his effort: “Bro is working HARD for this transfer.”
In the end, one fan was able to see the funny side of the Trent saga: “He even managed to get a transfer fee for Trent!
