Chelsea forward Joao Pedro was active on social media with his reaction after a fresh update on Marc Cucurella’s contract situation.
Chelsea players are currently enjoying their holidays following a brilliant end to the season, which saw them beat Paris Saint-Germain in the Club World Cup final.
It rounded off a memorable campaign under Enzo Maresca, with Chelsea also lifting the Europa Conference League and securing a return to the Champions League next season.
In the meantime, the club have been busy during the summer window.
New arrivals such as Pedro, Liam Delap and Jamie Gittens have all completed moves to Stamford Bridge as Chelsea continue their squad overhaul.
While several outgoings are still expected before the window closes, the club now appear to be working on tying down Cucurella’s future, with positive steps being made on that front.

Cucurella has been a standout performer for Chelsea this season, firmly establishing himself as a key figure in Maresca’s starting XI.
The left-back delivered seven goals and four assists in all competitions, proving his attacking qualities while maintaining a strong defensive presence.
Players like Renato Veiga and Ben Chilwell explored loan opportunities during the winter window due to limited game time with Cucurella holding down the starting role for Maresca.

While Cucurella’s future set to be secured, the Blues appear eager to strengthen their depth in the left-back and defensive roles ahead of the new season.
Reports suggest Chelsea are closing in on a deal for Ajax defender Jorrel Hato, who has impressed as a regular starter for the Dutch side.
Although both Liverpool and Arsenal have held a long-standing interest in Hato, Chelsea are currently the only club to have submitted a formal offer, and negotiations are progressing quickly.
Hato is expected to serve as a strong backup and a future prospect behind Cucurella, offering further defensive stability as the Blues prepare for a return to Champions League football.
