Liverpool defender Joe Gomez is wanted by a host of Premier League clubs as the summer window heats up.

After enduring a challenging season beset by injury, including a hamstring injury that required surgery in December and a recurrence in February, Gomez’s future at Anfield is not entirely clear.

The 28-year-old England international remains highly valued for his versatility and experience, having made over 240 appearances for Liverpool and collected nine major trophies since joining from Charlton in 2015.

According to recent reports, as many as seven Premier League clubs are keen on securing his services, with the likes of Sunderland, Newcastle, Aston Villa, Everton, West Ham, Leeds, and Burnley all linked to the player.

His ability to play across the backline makes him an attractive proposition for managers seeking defensive flexibility.

But for the player’s part, Gomez has dropped a hint on his future.

Penning a touching message on Instagram on Friday, Gomez posted about his 10th anniversary of joining the Anfield club – and finished it off by stating that he is still “hungry to keep going”.

His tribute read:

“10 years ago as a kid moving from south east London to Liverpool, I couldn’t even imagine looking this far into the future?

Looking back now I’m full of gratitude & take so much pride in being a part of this club and city.”

“No denying the challenges along the way, but embracing them to grow as both a player and a person is something I’ve always tried to do & I’m grateful for all the support in trying to do that.”

“It’s been a blessing to be a part of the different dressing rooms and getting to create such special memories over the years with so many great players & staff.”

“I felt it was important to share my thanks to you all for the support throughout the years, it’s always meant the world and I will never take it for granted.”

“A decade in red… and still hungry to keep going.”

It’s certainly a hint dropped by the defender that he does not feel his time at Anfield is up.

With Jarell Quansah close to a move to Bayer Leverkusen, it could be worth holding onto to a player that has been through it all in Liverpool’s resurgence back to the top of global football.

He is the long-serving player in Arne Slot’s squad.
