Joe Gomez has issued a four-word message after handing Liverpool an injury boost.

Gomez has spent the last four months on the sidelines with a hamstring injury be picked up during the 5-0 win over West Ham on December 29.

The Liverpool defender, 27, has made just 17 appearances for the Reds this season.

Arne Slot has used Gomez at centre-back as well as right-back and left-back throughout the campaign.

Gomez has gradually been stepping up his recovery from the injury after undergoing surgery back in February.

Now, the centre-back has offered an update on his recovery with a post on social media.

On Friday, Gomez posted on Instagram which featured himself back in training while alongside his Liverpool teammates.

The defender accompanied the post with a four-word message which read: "Take pride in resilience."

The post received more than 25,000 likes and also saw comments from members of the Liverpool squad.

Virgil van Dijk left a heart emoji in his comment, while Diogo Jota used a heart eyes emoji for his comment.

It remains to be seen whether or not Gomez will be part of Liverpool's matchday squad for their Premier League clash against Arsenal on Sunday.

The Reds have just three fixtures left to play this season before they will officially lift the trophy as league champions.

Gomez will have ambitions of having a role to play across the final three matches of the season, having not played a minute of football for Liverpool in 2025.

Liverpool currently have Van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate and Jarell Quansah as centre-back options going into the clash against Arsenal.

Slot has already confirmed that Conor Bradley will start at right-back in place of Trent Alexander-Arnold, so only time will tell if Gomez will get any minutes for the Reds this weekend.

There has been talk of a potential departure for Gomez, with the player himself confirming in December that there was a very real chance he could have left Anfield.

"(Leaving) was definitely for real," Gomez said in December.

"My focus was always on the club.
