Joe Gomez has received backing from numerous Liverpool teammates following his latest social media post.

The Reds defender is still on the comeback trail and hopes to feature in the squad that takes on Burnley in the Premier League this weekend.

Gomez faced intense speculation about a potential departure from Liverpool during the closing stages of the summer transfer window.



The 27-year-old returned to the matchday squad for the Premier League curtain-raiser against Bournemouth, marking his comeback more than six months since his last appearance for the club in February.

On Thursday, Gomez shared a post from Liverpool's most recent training session on Instagram.

Gomez has yet to make a starting appearance for Liverpool this season under Arne Slot but has featured twice from the bench in the Premier League.

With seven matches scheduled over the next three weeks, Gomez could see plenty of action before the next international break.

Liverpool begin their Champions League campaign just three days after travelling to Turf Moor, while a Merseyside Derby in the league and a Carabao Cup third round game against Southampton isn't too far away.
