It’s shaping up to be an interesting January transfer window for Liverpool.

DaveOCKOP exclusively revealed last week that Adam Wharton is a serious target for the Reds.

The Crystal Palace midfielder could be targetted as soon as January depending on how the club approaches the winter window.

Additionally, the Marc Guehi situation has turned an alarming direction amid reports that Manchester City are aiming to snatch the defender under the noses of Liverpool.

Should City show real interest, perhaps the Anfield club will want to accelerate the deal and pay a transfer fee to secure him in January.

And it looks like it could be busy on the outgoing front too.

Milan Live are reporting that AC Milan will look to make another attempt to sign Joe Gomez in the winter window.

Milan first identified Gomez as a prime target in the final hours of the summer market but Liverpool were hesitant to sanction the exit as they did not secure Marc Guehi.

Gomez was believed to be open to the move to the Serie A giants.

With Allegri’s backline still in need of reinforcement, Milan’s sporting director has earmarked the January window to reignite negotiations for Gomez.

The club anticipates that the coming months will provide clarity on Liverpool’s defensive situation and allow both parties to prepare thoroughly, increasing the likelihood of a successful transfer.

Should circumstances change before January, Milan remain poised to adapt their strategy; however, for now, Joe Gomez stands out as the Rossoneri’s priority to shore up their defence and respond to Allegri’s call for experience and solidity.

Journalist Pasquale La Ragione reports:

“Barring twists and turns between now and January, Milan has already decided who to focus on.”

“The Rossoneri will make a new attempt for Joe Gomez in January.”

“Joe Gomez is still a target and another serious attempt is expected, but between now and the winter market many things can still change.”

Gomez’s versatility is well-recognized, having been deployed in every role across Liverpool’s defensive line during his time at the club.

This flexibility makes him a valuable asset for Arne Slot, who faces the uncertainty of potential defensive injuries throughout the season.
