Joe Gomez’s Liverpool future has been under question for the last 24 hours or so.
Last season, a fair few clubs were interested in signing Gomez, but this summer, it felt certain that he was going to stay at Anfield up until the last couple of days.
Indeed, Crystal Palace did try and strike a deal with Liverpool to sign him on loan as part of their potential move for Marc Guehi, but in the end, that was brushed off.
But, if Liverpool don’t end up signing Guehi and Ibrahima Konate continues putting in poor performances, Gomez could end up earning his spot in Liverpool’s starting XI once again.

Of course, the deal for Guehi hasn’t had a definitive answer given to it yet, and, at the moment, it’s anyone’s guess what could happen.
However, with the way things have panned out for Liverpool thus far, it’s hard to see why they wouldn’t be able to find a way for Gomez and Guehi to both play regular roles this season, especially since that’s what Slot wants.
