Man City defender John Stones was quick to respond on social media after news of another official exit from the club.
The Citizens endured a forgettable 2024/25 campaign, with the side finishing third and Pep Guardiola overseeing a rare trophyless season.
The club have since embarked on a summer rebuild, with a number of high-profile departures and new arrivals, and Football Insider revealed that Man City are looking to offload up to five players in the final weeks of the transfer window.
Several notable exits have already been confirmed, including Kevin De Bruyne and Kyle Walker, while Stones has also been linked with a potential departure amid concerns over his fitness.
Despite the speculation surrounding his own future, Stones took the time to post a heartfelt message to a former teammate who has now left the club.
Man City confirmed on 12 August that Jack Grealish has joined Everton on loan, becoming the latest player to leave the club this summer.
Stones dedicated a heartfelt message to the England international on his Instagram story, saying: “Good luck for the season mate, I’ll miss you!” Grealish replied on his own story, writing: “I’ll miss you more Stonesy.”

While several players have already departed City in a summer exodus, James McAtee appears to be next on the exit list.
Football Insider revealed that Nottingham Forest are close to agreeing a deal for McAtee after his asking price was reduced., who value him close to £20 million.
Initially, City were seeking £35m for the 22-year-old, but the fee has been lowered to facilitate a move to Forest, who have long been interested in the midfielder.
