LFC Foundation is inviting local ex-military service men and women to join its Military Veterans programme.

LFC Foundation's Military Veterans project is, however, more than just a football programme.

LFC Foundation's Military Veterans Football sessions take place on Thursdays from 6pm-7pm at Netherton Goals, and from 3pm-4pm on Sundays at the LFC Academy in Kirkby.

The programme also provides weekly football sessions to ex-military personnel inmates at HMP Altcourse.

Using football, the project aims to support and re-engage veterans back into civilian life, while recapturing the 'spirit of service' and comradeship that is often lost on the return from service.

Over 20 veterans have achieved qualifications through the project to date, including FA Coaching Level One and Level Two badges, Referee Level One and nationally recognised mentoring certificates.
