Jordan Henderson has moved to condemn the racist abuse his Liverpool team-mates suffered following his side’s defeat to Real Madrid on Tuesday night.

The online abuse resulted in Liverpool releasing a statement yesterday urging social media platforms to take stronger action against those guilty of the appalling abuse.


"Once again we are sadly discussing abhorrent racial abuse the morning after a football game,” a club statement read.

“Online abuse has got to stop.

And now Henderson has taken to Twitter to reveal the level of abuse aimed at his team-mates has made him consider deleting his social media accounts over the last few weeks.

Both Trent Alexander-Arnold and Naby Keita were targeted by some online in the wake of the 3-1 Champions League defeat at the Alfredo Di Stefano Stadium.
