Jordan Henderson has joined forces with Cybersmile, a non-profit dedicated to combatting online abuse, to launch a new campaign, 'People not Profiles.

Cybersmile announced the news on Thursday afternoon on Twitter, with a video of the Liverpool captain explaining why what he has seen over the past few years has motivated him to join the fight against online bullying.

"Over the past few years, I've seen some of my friends, teammates, other players, people within football, out of football, in the wider society suffer some horrendous abuse online, and still I don't really see much changing," Henderson said.

"I came across Cybersmile, who are a foundation that educate, support and advise people who suffer from social media abuse and online bullying," he explained.

This partnership will see Cybersmile post support links from Henderson's accounts that people who are suffering from abuse can use to seek help and support.

"Hopefully it can help a lot of people over the next few weeks," Henderson adeed.
