Former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has sent his best wishes to Trent Alexander-Arnold after he announced that he would leave the Reds.
The 26-year-old will depart the club at the end of the season as a free agent when his contract expires.
The Liverpool defender has paved a move to Real Madrid with Los Blancos holding a long-standing interest in the full-back.
Alexander-Arnold was one of three high-profile Anfield stars who were heading into the final year of their contracts at the beginning of the season.
Like the England international, Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah faced intense scrutiny over their futures on Merseyside with the threat of losing the trio as free agents at the end of the season.
In the weeks building up to the Reds clinching the Premier League, Salah and Van Dijk both penned new two-year deals but there was no breakthrough regarding Alexander-Arnold - before he announced on Monday (May 5) that he would be leaving at the end of the season.
He shared an emotional video addressing Liverpool fans on social media, Henderson was among those to send their best wishes to the full-back who has won every piece of major silverware during his time in the first-team.

Explaining his decision, Alexander-Arnold told the official club website: "Obviously there’s been a lot of noise around what the decision was going to be and how that was going to look.
When we were in a title race and trying to push for trophies, it’s about making the right decision for the team and trying not to distract the team and take away from what we’re doing on the pitch.
"For me, it was always to do it after the season was kind of done; not so much the final game but when there was nothing else really to play for.
"Now that we’ve won the league and we’ve been able to celebrate it and celebrate such an amazing achievement, I felt like now is the right time to get it off my chest and tell the fans the truth, and now is that time.
"One hundred per cent, [staying was] a massive possibility.
It’s not about me thinking we’re not going to fight for titles or fight for trophies season in, season out because I knew from the first few moments with the manager that he was a winner, he was aiming to go and win things.
"And you’ve seen that this season with the way that we’ve played.
