Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen is keen on the chance to join Newcastle United amid strong interest in his services from the Magpies.
Amid Eddie Howe’s desire to bolster his frontline, Newcastle have set their sights on Strand Larsen, who featured in his side’s defeat to Manchester City on Saturday, 16 August.
Howe is short of attacking options after Callum Wilson left the North East to join West Ham on a free transfer.
Meanwhile, Liverpool remain interested in Alexander Isak, who refused to play for Newcastle in their draw with Aston Villa on 16 August.

Strand Larsen performed well in his first Premier League season for Wolves last term, notching 14 goals in 35 top-flight appearances.
Meanwhile, according to The Athletic on Tuesday, 19 August, Newcastle retain an interest in the 25-year-old and talks have began through intermediaries, rather than between the two clubs.
The report adds that Strand Larsen is keen on the possibility of joining Howe’s side, but is not forcing a move away from Wolves.

Newcastle have endured a tough summer transfer window amid the ongoing saga between the North East club and prolific goalscorer Isak.
Regardless of whether Isak leaves, Howe has been frustrated by missing out on key targets Bryan Mbeumo, Liam Delap, and Joao Pedro.
Newcastle have successfully signed Anthony Elanga and Jacob Ramsey from Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa, respectively, but they must acquire an out-and-out striker.

The Magpies failed to score against Villa on Saturday, with winger Anthony Gordon having to deputise up front in Isak’s absence.
If the Sweden international joins Liverpool, Howe cannot expect Strand Larsen to arrive in the North East and produce the same attacking output as the former Real Sociedad man.
However, the striker’s exploits at Wolves prove that he can help the Magpies perform well in both the Premier League and the Champions League, thanks to his attacking threat.
The Norway international could prove to be even more clinical when playing alongside talented wingers like Gordon.
