Jose Mourinho was left visibly emotional while discussing Diogo Jota's tragic death, saying the Liverpool forward not being here is "hard to understand".
The Reds star had just won his first Premier League title with Liverpool, lifted the Nations League trophy with Portugal and married his childhood sweetheart, Rute, just two weeks prior.
One of the many people deeply saddened by his passing is his compatriot and former Chelsea and Manchester United manager Mourinho.
The 62-year-old was interviewed on Portugal's Channel 11 programme 'Futebol Total' on Tuesday night and became emotional when speaking about Jota.
Mourinho said: "I greeted Jota twice.
Although I didn't know him, I know him so well...
He was the player, the team player, the boy, the family man, the way he interacted with the organisation."

Mourinho went on to say: "He must have been a really fantastic boy.
Diogo was really a nice guy.
"People in Liverpool know what I'm saying is true.
At Anfield, he will always be part of the family and maybe they lose a player but maybe they win even more soul than what they have."
