Jose Mourinho(Image: AFP via Getty Images)Outspoken Didi Hamann has dismissed the notion of Jose Mourinho breathing new life into his illustrious managerial career with Rangers.
The Special One showered the Ibrox side and their supporters in love bombs before and after Barry Ferguson outfoxed him and led Rangers past Fenerbahce into the last of eight of last season's Europa League.
The 62-year-old is seeking his next move after the Turkish giants axed him in the wake of their chastening Champions League playoff defeat to Benfica – the club Mourinho had made his play thing since he was sacked by them in 2000.
Russell Martin retains the backing of Rangers' owners despite not winning any of his first four Premiership games and being wiped out 9-1 by Brugge on aggregate in a humiliating Champions League capitulation.
But Hamann is not buying Mourinho bathing in the Blue Sea of Ibrox anytime soon and thinks a move back to the English Premier League is on the cards.
The 42-times capped German international, speaking to Adventure Sports, said: “He hasn't managed in the Premier League for a while now.
But for one or two seasons, I can still see him performing magic.
“Is he as successful as he was 10 years ago?
I wouldn't rule out him being successful.
“He's been linked to Rangers, but I'm not sure if he'd go there.
I can't really see it.
“I can't really see Mourinho in Scotland.
But then again, he has surprised us before, and he might surprise us again.”
