Manchester United striker Joshua Zirkzee shared a cryptic message on social media as uncertainty over his future at the club continues to grow.

Zirkzee was an unused substitute in United’s opening Premier League defeat to Arsenal, with Ruben Amorim preferring new arrivals Benjamin Sesko and Matheus Cunha to lead the line.

It follows a tough debut campaign for the Dutchman, who managed just three league goals and endured a low point when Zirkzee was booed by sections of the Old Trafford crowd earlier last season.

Football finance expert Dan Plumley told Football Insider that Man United are open to selling Zirkzee this summer, although the forward is reluctant to leave and wants to fight for his place.

Amid the speculation, the striker posted a message online that has only added to the uncertainty surrounding his future, with fans left wondering whether he intends to push for a fresh start elsewhere or prove his critics wrong.

Zirkzee posted on Instagram while speculation around his United future continues to grow, sharing a cryptic quote that caught the attention of supporters.

The striker posted a poster with a message on his Instagram story that read: “You’re seeking validation from a world that crucified a perfect man.”

The Dutchman fought his way back into the squad last season and ended the campaign with 49 appearances in all competitions, but doubts remain over whether he is part of Amorim’s long-term plans.

Despite only arriving last summer, Football Insider revealed that Zirkzee is among six Man United players the club are looking to sell, with no transfer fees received for any exits so far this window.

However, Man United are also open to offers for Rasmus Hojlund and it remains to be seen whether their stance on Zirkzee softens as the squad prepare to face Fulham.

While United continue to reshape their attack, they have also been exploring options to strengthen their midfield, with Adam Wharton among the names under consideration.

However, Football Insider revealed that Crystal Palace are unwilling to entertain offers for Wharton, despite late interest from Old Trafford.

Palace are already braced for key departures, with Eberechi Eze on the verge of joining Arsenal and Marc Guehi strongly linked with Liverpool.

As a result, they are reluctant to lose another core player with just eight days left in the transfer window, leaving United to explore alternative targets.
