Liverpool could be forced into selling some stars this summer but they will demand big money for them.

The Reds’ transfer business this summer has been nothing short of sensational, with the pick of the bunch being the signing of Florian Wirtz.

The German may have cost £116m but all the signs suggest he is worth it, especially as the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester City and Bayern Munich were interested.

The latter especially wanted the 22-year-old, with there now being a bit of tension between Liverpool and Bayern, mainly from their side due to the bitterness of missing out on one of Germany’s generational talents.

This should not stop them from doing business, however, with the Bundesliga champions keen on adding winger Luis Diaz to their ranks, although the Reds may just remain extra firm over the price tag they would want to let him go.

This transfer has certainly been heating up over the last few days, but the Colombian’s Anfield exit may not be as close as many think given the recent contrasting reports.

Diaz is one of the best wide players in the world and it is no surprise to see him linked with a move away, although it might be surprising that he is open to one given the exciting future Liverpool have ahead.

Reports on Monday suggested that Diaz had an agreement in place to join the German giants, with the player just needing the club to see eye-to-eye.

However, according to Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg, both sides are denying any sort of agreement, but a phone call did take place.

The phone call was an ‘informal enquiry’ rather than an actual offer, with Liverpool responding by saying that Diaz is not for sale.

Plettenberg confirms that Bayern remain in contact with the player’s representatives, meaning they still think there is a chance, although a big offer will be required.

The Reds would want at least £72.5m to let Diaz leave this summer, a fee that they could get too given the interest that teams have in him, with Saudi Arabian clubs the most likely to be happy to part ways with that kind of money.

One of the first teams interested in Diaz was Barcelona and the feelings are reported to be mutual, with the Spanish giants still holding out hope of signing him.

After being rejected by Nico Williams, the La Liga champions have made the Colombian their top target once again, although financial implications of the deal could prove to be the stumbling block.

Barcelona have had two approaches turned down already, but Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that they will at least attempt a new one, with Diaz keen on the move.

“Barcelona plans have not changed: the intention is to try to make a new approach for Luis Diaz soon.

Diaz, keen on the move.” Romano said on his X account.

“He’s the main target for Barca as winger, while FCB are aware of difficult negotiations ahead club to club after two approaches already rejected.”

Barcelona are reportedly prepared to wait to make an offer for Diaz out of respect while Liverpool continue to grieve the loss of Diogo Jota, but an approach will be made in due course.
