There is a new update on Luis Diaz and reported interest from Saudi Arabia.

Díaz’s future has been one of the major recurring topics of discussion in this transfer window.

The Colombian star is one of those players facing an uncertain future at Liverpool.

The 28-year-old, whose current deal expires in 2027, was the club’s second top scorer this past 2024/25 campaign behind Mohamed Salah.

The club opened contract renewal discussions with Diaz this summer, aiming to secure the Colombian winger’s long-term future amid sustained interest from Barcelona, and new reports linking him with a move to Saudi Arabia.

However, contract talks between Liverpool and Diaz have been strained, and there appears to be no headway so far.

In fact, a recent report from Colombian journalist Pipe Sierra claimed that Diaz’s entourage is upset with Liverpool.

According to the journalist, the 28-year-old’s representatives believe that the Reds have gone back on their word regarding a potential transfer this summer, as well as a new contract, and Diaz is now likely to leave the club.

Barcelona have remained a potential destination for Diaz, with the Spanish club openly admitting their desire to sign him.

Barca recently made enquiries about signing him, but their attempt was swiftly rebuffed by Liverpool, who have insisted that the player is not for sale.

However, the club do not have only Barca to fend off.

Diaz is also a subject of serious interest from Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr.

The Saudi club have made Diaz their top summer target and are prepared to go all out for him.

Their interest remains sustained despite the change of guard in their coaching setup.

Al Nassr recently announced former Benfica and Sporting CP manager, Jorge Jesus, as head coach, and the Portuguese manager is said to be in agreement with the club pursuing the signing of Diaz.

Journalist Ben Jacobs has provided an update on Al Nassr’s interest, revealing the amount the Saudi Pro League are willing to pay for Luis Diaz.

“Luis Diaz remains Al-Nassr’s top left-wing target, even after Liverpool told Barcelona he is not for sale,” Jacobs wrote on X.

“Nassr (are) prepared to offer in excess of €85m.

Diaz was open to Barcelona, but it’s still unclear if he’ll consider Saudi?

Nassr have several other options they will now discuss with incoming head coach Jorge Jesus.”

Liverpool signed Diaz for a reported €45 million (£37.5 million) with €15 million (£12.5 million) add-ons.

While the Reds don’t want to lose Luis Diaz, such a huge bid could tempt them, especially as it would go a long way towards funding a potential move for Newcastle’s Alexander-Isak.

A deal would likely be the second-highest sale in Liverpool history behind Philippe Coutinho.
