Liverpool were soundly beaten by Everton in Jurgen Klopp’s final Merseyside Derby with the club.
The Reds have been limping towards the finish line over the past few weeks despite still being in contention for the Premier League title.
And on Wednesday at Goodison Park, it finally came crashing down.
And journalist James Pearce heard a chant from the stands that will make every Reds fan grimace.

The atmosphere at Goodison can really propel Everton along on nights like these.
The Reds just couldn’t live with it.
After the second goal went in before the hour, Liverpool never looked like coming back into it.
And that’s when Pearce took to X to share what he’d heard coming from the home faithful.
“You lost the league at Goodison Park,” rings around the ground,” wrote the journalist.
Although Liverpool can mathematically still win the Premier League, it now looks to be beyond them.
Arsenal and Manchester City will have taken great heart in this result tonight and are in good form themselves.
The reality is that the Reds will now need both teams to lose more than one game in the final batch of fixtures.
It simply isn’t going to happen.
Liverpool did not lose the league at Goodison as the Everton fans would have you believe, it was gone after the defeat against Crystal Palace, really.
Heads need to be picked up and players need to get back to basics.
