Florian Wirtz and Liverpool have dominated transfer headlines ever since it was revealed that the German was up for grabs this summer.
Arne Slot has managed to fend off Bayern Munich and Manchester City to get a deal for Wirtz over the line, with the Reds looking to retain the Premier League title next season.
Regarding the deal, from the recent reports that have surfaced, it seems like everything aside from the transfer fee for Wirtz and the structure of those payments have been agreed upon.

David Lynch has even said that Wirtz’s Liverpool medical could take place over the coming days.
The fact that Liverpool have managed to beat Bayern to the transfer of Wirtz is nothing short of a miracle.
“The main thing for Liverpool fans to relax is that Florian Wirtz told Bayern that ‘I’m not coming to Bayern I’m going to Liverpool,” he said.

“They will find a solution, Bayer Leverkusen will look for that solution, Bayer Leverkusen are so happy that he won’t play for Bayern although that is a tradition that Bayern will get the best players in Germany.”
Liverpool may have emerged as the best team in England last season, but that doesn’t mean they can’t go even bigger and better next season.
With Jeremie Frimpong’s Anfield switch already confirmed and Wirtz’s move almost there as well, it’s hard to see how Slot’s men won’t be in the running for the title once again in the 2025-26 season.
With players such as Jarell Quansah and Darwin Nunez on the cusp of leaving Liverpool, it’s clear that a fair few changes are going to be made at the club.
