Jurgen Klopp may have had flashbacks to his own Premier League title celebrations while watching Arne Slot win the title for Liverpool at the first time of asking.

The Merseysiders thrashed Tottenham Hotspur 5-1 at Anfield, securing Slot's first title in England and the club's 20th, drawing level with Manchester United's record.

In doing so, Slot became the first Premier League manager since Antonio Conte at Chelsea in 2017 to win the title in his debut campaign.



His own Premier League title celebrations were vastly different, taking place during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.

When Chelsea's win over Manchester City sealed the title for Liverpool, Klopp and his players celebrated at Formby Golf Club and lifted the trophy at an empty Anfield.

In an emotional interview with Sky Sports News, Klopp, donning a Liverpool cap and shirt, allowed his emotions to get the better of him.

I had no idea it would feel like this...talking through the tears!

"It's an incredible achievement by my players and it's a huge joy for me to coach them.

But, he has hinted at joining any potential celebrations in a past dialogue.

At a charity event in South Africa, in response to inquiries about his attendance, he said: "Yes, the plan is [to be in Liverpool] but not on the bus, I will be there with the people I saw on the bus.
