Jurgen Klopp believes Arsenal’s defensive solidity with William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes has been a key difference in the Premier League title race following Liverpool’s 2-0 defeat to Everton on Wednesday evening.

Liverpool have lost ground on Premier League leaders Arsenal as the loss at Goodison Park has left them three points behind Mikel Arteta’s side and only one ahead of Manchester City, who have played two fewer games.

The defeat to Everton means Liverpool have now registered just two wins in their last six matches in all competitions – a run of form which has also seen them crash out of the Europa League to Atalanta.

Klopp also believes Liverpool need a ‘crisis’ at both Arsenal and City in order to finish the season as Premier League champions.

‘I understand it, it’s part of the business, but I don’t know why I have to answer this question – obviously you can read the table,’ Klopp said.
