Jurgen Klopp has hinted at potential changes to his Liverpool side ahead of Wednesday’s Merseyside derby against Everton.
In Sunday’s victory at Fulham, Klopp opted to shuffle his lineup with Mohamed Salah among those relegated to the bench.
The Reds saw five alterations, with Diogo Jota, Harvey Elliott, Wataru Endo, Ryan Gravenberch, and Jarell Quansah all earning starts.
This tactical maneuver paid dividends, revitalizing the team after a couple of lackluster performances, resulting in a comfortable 3-1 win that bolstered their Premier League title aspirations.
However, Klopp faces at least one enforced alteration against Everton, as Jota sustained an injury during the Fulham clash.
With the visit to Goodison Park marking Liverpool’s third away fixture in a span of four games within 10 days, the German manager has hinted at further squad rotation to capitalize on the depth of his squad.
“In this week because the next one is around the corner immediately and then away at West Ham, we had to do it and we will see what we can do now for this game,” Klopp said.
“Nothing definite yet.
“We will line players up and hopefully we will have again a lot of fresh legs on the pitch.
“Everton played on Sunday as well, so the same rhythm.
“Now not all the time the same rhythm, I think their rhythm was quite frequently interrupted where they had two or three weeks off, which is not great as well.
We will see.”
He added: “I’m very positive, not in a strange way where I want to see things brighter than they are.
“But you have to win games and I think we know how to do that.
“Now we have today to make sure that everybody understands the way we want to try tomorrow.”
